COACHING:

The Board of the SYAC Girls Softball League thanks you for accepting the role of coach/assistant coach, however, we reserve the right to remove you from the coaching ranks if we find that you fall short of the following SYAC goals and rules of behavior: 

• That you keep in mind that coaching is a privilege and a responsibility.
• That you pledge to keep in mind at all times that the SYAC Girls Softball League exists for the benefit of the youth of our town.
• That you will teach the skills and rules of softball in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.
• That you will conduct an adequate number of team practices so that all girls may learn the game and improve their skills.
• That you will place the emotional and physical wellbeing of the players ahead of a personal desire to win.
• That you respect the authority of the umpire and abide by his or her decisions, which are based on the rules of the Amateur Softball Association (www.asa softball.com).
• That you respect the authority of the SYAC Board of Directors and abide their rulings.
• That you strive to ensure that all girls on your team play an equitable amount of time and have a positive team experience.
• That you refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs at all SYAC Intramural, Travel and other League Events.
• That you refrain from cursing or inappropriate behavior.
• That you will help enforce the leagues Covid-19 guidelines at practice and during games.
